a great starting point...

this home has beautifully scaled garden spaces...now we just want to pump them up a bit...

we'll use the red door and spirea out front as our inspiration...we'll add evergreen foundation plantings and beautiful perennials to add the "wow" factor...

day one...do YEW stay or do YEW go?

as is typical for me, i arrived with a van full of gorgeous plantings...not sure the yews were welcomed with open arms but i think they are fabulous!

and how about our new containers!!  chartreuse, purple, red...wow!

the YEWS won!

i am so excited...the other main contender was the otto luyken cherry laurel...which i am a big fan of...they are in my front yard!  however, i really like texture that these yews provide...

first step...amend the "soil" left behind by the builder...ugh

then, add the plants...yahoo

oh, i met a new friend...i call him "snail"...not sure if he survived his "visit" with the two boys that live in the house, but alas, it was nice while it lasted...
