Zeus' Garden...

Zeus is probably the biggest dog I have ever seen...AND he is not the family's only dog...he's got two doggie friends he plays with (pics to follow!)
Anyway, the dogs like to hang out in the front yard and play...the area in front of the japanese maple had once been grass but is too shady to take the foot traffic of the dogs...

SO...the homeowner and I have devised a plan!!

The plan...

The plan is to nearly remove all the grass from in front of the japanese maple, in so doing we'll adjust the grade a bit and add a rock element.

The garden will be full of things that can take a big-dog-feet-trampling...,like ajuga...ajuga comes in tons of varieties and makes a great groundcover...

We'll use the lime green maple as our inspiration as well as the existing variegated liriope and euonymous...

Chartruese texture and livability!

what a cool garden!  it will be very low maintenance as the ajuga, liriope and creeping jenny grow...i absolutely love all the texture and the color palette...everything on the ground really compliments the tree above it...especially this time of the year...

Oh, and pics of Zeus are coming...!
