welcome to cherry tree garden!
in honor of the garden's beautiful cherry tree, the children at this house wanted to name the garden "cherry tree garden"
how sweet is that!?
cherry tree garden presents itself like so many others in the area...i love its scale but it needs some love...we'll work with the existing plantings and add some more to give it a more "finished" look...
here are some "before" pics...

fear not hostas!
it is hard to tell from the above pictures, but there were several hostas huddled together with 3 heuchera and a lone painted fern...it looked like they were scared and huddled together for comfort...
we talked those hostas through a rigorous battle as each hosta was split into 2, 3 and 4 hostas! they quickly became more confident as their numbers multiplied!
the heuchera (coral bells) and japanese painted fern were also emboldened by the experience and no longer cower in the corner!
we spent about 225 dollars purchasing 20 perennials that will certainly do their share to fill in the garden...most notably, echinacea (coneflower), shasta daisy and black eyed susans...these perennials have such a long bloom time...and they get bigger and better each year!
3 hours of planting and 225 dollars...not bad :)
